Terms of Service
Ekene is a free browser game at ekene.app, built by Lotanna Igwe-Odunze. By playing it you agree to these terms. They're short because the game is simple: sign-up is optional, payment is optional, and paying buys style and time, never advantage.
The game is an early build
Playing Ekene
You may play Ekene for free, for personal enjoyment. In return, please don't:
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the game or other players' experience of it.
- Exploit bugs for advantage on any future shared features (such as leaderboards) — report them instead, kindly.
- Use a company name that is offensive, or that impersonates a real business or person.
- Copy, resell, or redistribute the game or its assets as your own.
Your account
You can play without an account. Signing in — by email code or with Google — carries your company between devices; keep it to yourself, since anyone with your email code or Google account can reach your company. We may suspend or remove an account used for the things listed above. To delete your account and everything attached to it, ask us at feedback@ekene.app; what we hold is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Virtual currency and items
Kobo (ƙ), vehicles, cities, and everything else you earn by playing are game fiction with no real-world value. They cannot be bought, sold, exchanged, or redeemed for real money or anything of value outside the game, and they may be adjusted, rebalanced, or reset as the game develops. The ƙ symbol and in-game prices are game design, not financial representations.
Ego is the game's premium currency, spent on cosmetics and small conveniences — style and time, never advantage; everywhere in the game stays reachable without paying. Ego is otherwise game fiction like everything above: no cash value, and it cannot be cashed out, transferred, or redeemed outside the game.
Purchases
- Buying requires a signed-in account. If you're under 18, buy only with the card-holder's say-so.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details never touch us. The merchant is Nsogbu LLC. Prices are in US dollars for now; Naira options are planned.
- Every purchase is one-time. Nothing renews or charges by itself.
- Bought Ego you haven't spent: ask and we refund it, no fuss. Spent Ego is generally final — but write to us anyway at feedback@ekene.app; we're small enough to be reasonable.
- Deleting your account forfeits any remaining Ego and cosmetics with it. If you have bought Ego you haven't spent, ask for your refund first.
Ownership
The game — its design, code, artwork, name, and original soundtrack — is © 2026 Lotanna Igwe-Odunze, all rights reserved. The Nigerian bus slogans that vehicles arrive christened with are quoted cultural heritage; the buses are ours, the wisdom is everyone's.
Feedback
We ask for feedback and genuinely use it. By sending suggestions or ideas (via the form, email, or otherwise) you agree we may use them to improve Ekene without restriction or compensation — with our thanks.
Advertising
In-game roadside billboards are available for hire by real sponsors. Placements are approved at our discretion and governed by a separate agreement — enquiries to ads@ekene.app.
No warranty
Ekene is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from playing (or being unable to play) the game, including lost progress. The game may be changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the game grows (an in-game shop is planned; accounts and cloud saves have now arrived). The date above will change when we do, and continuing to play means you accept the updated terms.
